Butler County urges political action to combat infant mortality

Political action could be the driving force behind finding solutions to the county and Ohio’s soaring infant mortality rate, according to one prominent Butler County office holder.

When local political and community leaders, joined together to meet with Ohio Medicaid Director John McCarthy and representatives from the five Medicaid managed care plans last week to discuss ways to combat high infant mortality rates, Butler County Commissioner Cindy Carpenter attended the summit and urged more residents to get politically involved.
