COLUMBIA — Democratic candidates used a tree stump as their platform Sunday evening at Cosmopolitan Park to galvanize Boone County residents to vote Democrat on the November ballot. Eleven Democrats running for national and state political positions discussed Medicaid expansion, education funding and the voter identification requirement, or Amendment Six, which will show up on the November ballot.About 70 people attended the event, hosted by the Boone County Democratic Party, and enjoyed a side of free ice cream while the candidates spoke for about five minutes each. Residents were also invited to support the Democratic Party by participating in a silent auction, purchasing buttons and volunteering their time to help candidates knock on doors.Medicaid Expansion
