Escaping the Medicaid gap

There may be a gaping health insurance coverage gap in Virginia, but at least it’s escapable.

Open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act marketplace ended Jan. 31, but Virginia residents who have a change in circumstances that qualifies them for subsidized health insurance, such as marriage or a new job, do not have to wait until next year to get insurance — they might qualify for a special enrollment period.
