The clinic offers confidential access to birth control and free testing for sexually transmitted diseases. The Marshalltown clinic and a satellite office in Grinnell served a total of nearly 1,800 patients last year, Executive Director Mandi Beeghly said Monday.Beeghly said the clinic’s demise, first reported by the Marshalltown Times-Republican, is directly related to Iowa’s shift last spring to private management of the state Medicaid program. “That was a battle we just couldn’t win,” she said.The controversial Medicaid change put three national corporations in charge of administering the program, which serves …
