U.S. Rep. John Faso, R-19, recently introduced legislation that would eliminate a state mandate that requires county property taxpayers to contribute to the cost of the state’s Medicaid program.

New York has one of the most expensive Medicaid programs in the country, according to a release from Faso’s office April 6. The state’s total Medicaid outlay is $59.8 billion, Faso Communication Director Courtney Weaver said.
