LUBBOCK, Texas –
A Lubbock woman who pleaded guilty in January to one count of health care fraud was sentenced Friday to 18 months in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Northern District of Texas.
Paula McNeal, a former worker at New Hope Christian Counseling in Lubbock, is accused of billing Medicaid for services not provided. As a result, McNeal reportedly appropriated checks totaling over $104,000 for her own personal use.
McNeal, aka Paula Quigley and Paula Walker, was ordered to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on June 24, 2016.
The case was investigated by the Texas Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
