While state officials point fingers over who is to blame, the state’s growing backlog in processing Medicaid eligibility applications is forcing a Girard nursing home to close its doors.

The State Journal-Register reports Pleasant Hill Village in Girard will shut down September 1st.

The home has been waiting months… and in some cases, years… for the state to process more than $2 million in applications for payment.
