In his June 8 Cross Country piece “Medicaid Expansion Has Louisianans Dropping Private Plans,” Chris Jacobs from the Pelican Institute presents incomplete data in a misleading way to convince readers that this isn’t the case.

The conclusions presented don’t match the findings of independent researchers at Louisiana State University who assessed the impact of Medicaid expansion on private health-insurance coverage. The LSU researchers found relatively few people “dropped” private coverage to enroll in Medicaid.
