“Rally to Save Medicaid” happening in Portland Saturday

PORTLAND, Maine —

A “Rally to Save Medicaid” is happening in Portland Saturday.

The republican candidate for Maine’s first congressional district, Dr. Mark Holbrook, will speak at the rally.

In a press release, Holbrook said that he has worked in the mental health field in Maine since 1998 and “witnessed firsthand the damage caused by the expansion back in 2002.”

Holbrook said children and adults with serious and persistent mental illness lost services as a result of an “ill-conceived attempt to socialize medicine here in Maine.”

The rally is from noon to 2 p.m. at the Maine State Pier in Portland.
