Two state audits say the Rauner administration has failed to recover $76 million in Medicaid overpayments dating back five years.
The reports also say the state paid $71 million for Medicaid services without checking to see if the clients were still eligible… while thousands of requests for services have gone answered for months, and sometimes years.
Rauner attributes the problems to “clerical errors” and says they’re being corrected.
