MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) — Senior Resources in Muscatine is struggling financially because of unpaid Medicaid bills adding up to around $14,000.
Iowa Medicaid is now privatized, a system change that went into affect in May. This changed the way agencies bill for services.
Senior Resources struggles with the transition from the start when their billing number wasn’t working. Now Executive Director, Todd Poci said his agency is drowing.
“Right now the problem that we are facing is that we are submitting bills and those bills are not being paid,” said Poci.
The center was prepared for a rocky transition with medicaid but Poci said they weren’t expecting to struggle this much.
